With the arrival of Spring we often think of getting out in the great outdoors.
Elise Jarman often socialised in a big group of friends. One outing she remembers was catching the train to Mundaring to go for a picnic at Mundaring Weir.
On one occasion, they not only took their picnic, but also a collection of Jazz records and a portable gramophone. They thought it was wonderful having “portable” music!
What a contrast to today, where people can carry hundreds of hours of music in a little thing in their pocket, Elise laughs. ‘It was great fun!’.
